Okay, this book really put me through it.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD:
First of all, Aurora without her emotions was SO frustrating to read — and I mean that as a compliment to the author! I was annoyed with her, but in a way that made perfect sense for what was happening. It actually made me appreciate how well her character and emotions had been written throughout the books.
And Brindan sending Tayo to MAX… I HATE HIM. That's all I have to say about that.
The Parkour Games are still giving me major Hunger Games vibes, and honestly? I am absolutely here for it. I really enjoyed these parts again, and the competition and tension continue to be some of my favorite elements of the series.
One unexpected advantage of Tayo being in MAX, though, is that it gives Aurora and Pax the opportunity to get closer again. And I really loved that. I’ve missed their relationship, and seeing them reconnect reminded me just how much I love the dynamic between them.
But that ENDING.
The suspense when Saulwyn and Theodor were caught had me completely hooked. I was especially sad about Theodor, and I really liked the way his anxiety was incorporated into the story. His reliance on a specific routine felt like a thoughtful and natural representation, rather than something that was just mentioned and forgotten. It made his character feel very real.
Then everything escalated with them all being caught… I genuinely could not put the book down at that point. The tension just kept building and I needed to know what was going to happen.
Seioh, I knew there was something about him! I absolutely loved that he helped them. It felt like such a satisfying moment after all the little things we've seen from him throughout the series.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It had its slower moments for me, but the character development, the relationships, the Parkour Games and especially that final stretch completely pulled me in.
And now I'm once again sitting here with a million questions and curious as to how this story is going to end
Needless to say, I'm loving this series, I've grown fond of all the characters by now and I'm not really ready for the end🥲
This book is perhaps the one I've had the hardest time finishing so far, but that doesn't make me like it any less! I struggled to read the beginning simply because I was starting to hate Aurora without her emotions and it was starting to get frustrating, but that was exactly the point I guess, and in the end it made me appreciate the character even more, making me empathize with her in certain points and made evident the author's skill in describing and dealing with her emotions throughout the entire story!
However, there were many moments that I perceived as long and repetitive, which in a certain sense made me feel the length of the book, but this is more of a personal feeling. (Also my favorite character treated unfairly badly is missing for most of the book, I want justice😔)
Anyway, one thing I love about this story is how new things are always discovered and more and more mysteries are revealed: my favorite parts were undoubtedly the moments when Aurora had these visions of the past, leading us to discover where and how it all began.
I can't wait to find out where this all leads and how this story ends! (Even though I'm not ready to let it go)
The tail end of the last book was so devastating. Aurora losing her powers.
This book, I'm not going to lie, took me a while to really get going on it. Until Aurora got her magic back, I found it very hard to read the book. It just felt like someone else had written it, which isn't true, I know. It's just what I felt, however once she got her magic back, I was able to fly through it a lot faster.
There were quite a lot of twists and turns in the book, like Aurora ended up in prison. That was an absolute shock. Sovereign Skill being taken out. That was also a massive shock.
Overall I want to thank you Roxy for this series and to be an arc reader for two of the three books have been an absolute pleasure.
I absolutely loved The Guidal: Saving Light! The deeper we get into Puracordis, the more invested I become. Roxy Eloise’s descriptions are so vivid that I can genuinely picture the world as I’m reading, and I loved learning more about its past and watching the lore continue to expand.
The character development was another highlight. Even characters I wasn’t sure about at the beginning of the series have grown on me and feel like real, complex people. I especially loved following Aurora’s journey in this book.
There are some sensual and romantic moments, but nothing explicit or spicy, and there is some stronger language that I didn’t find excessive. Overall, this was an easy 5 stars, and once again Roxy ended the book with me NEEDING more!
Saving light continues on where unearthing secrets, left off as Aurora enters year 3 in the institute. The emotional rollercoaster this book took me on was something else. I wanted to cry and scream into my pillow on more than one occasion. The cliffhanger was absolutely mind blowing and made me sit and stare questioning everything I thought l knew. I enjoyed getting to know more about pax in this book but at what cost Roxy (I could cry). I'm excited to read the next book I need to know what happens next like yesterday!!!
This series continues to be outstanding!! The characters, the growth, the relationships, everything!
I loved seeing Aurora grow closer to Ryker in this book and even seeing Pax and Tayo develop a friendship.
The ending / last 50 ish pages had to be my favourite part. The intensity and revelations was set up brilliantly!
I was so enthralled that I didn’t even realise how close I was to finishing!
It seriously felt like a movie.
Definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves dystopian romance!!
Aurora’s character was a struggle for me in this book, I hadn’t struggled with her previously, always making myself remember how young she is, however this one she was just a bitch, I get why but I hated seeing that side of her!

Absolutely ate this book up! Ohhh that ending I was so sad. And poor Tayo. He needs to be ok! And jennsen! There’s so many more dynamics between the characters in this book. The world building continues to be amazing. I enjoyed the flash backs as well to Noala. Went through so many emotions in this book. I didn’t think they could get any better! Can’t wait to read the next book. Fantastic series very original. Full of plot and great magic. Love the dystopian setting
Love love love this series, this book had me mentally scream at aurora !had my jaw hit the floor!! And made me cry!!! The end …. Ahhhhhhh whhhaaaat!!! If you havnt read this series ! Get to reading because how have I not heard about these books untill now, I was team pax now I’m team why choose…. Have it all 😂 still love the characters, the story line, the love triangles! Oh my !!! I can’t wait to read what happens next
