Being an arc reader for this book has been an absolute privilege.
Roxy's ability to entwine deep foreshadowing with a plot that eventually detonates is one of her greatest strengths.
It's a story that rewards the forensic reader; every name and every lineage carries weight you won't see coming.
The last chapters will have you sitting on the edge of your seat you will not be able to put the book down.
See if you catch the reread before you reread the book like I did. You will have to wait for the climax to see if you see it.
From chapter 1 right the way through to chapter 66 Aurora has to relearn her place in the world. Loses friendships, gains family, and is tested time and time again will she pull through who knows.
I finished this at 04:53 with my brain vibrating and a heat-sick feeling in my gut. It’s that kind of book. I have got pages of notes and a ledger just to keep up with the genius of these lineages. If you think you know where this is going, you’re wrong. There were moments where I literally had to put the book down and just stare at the wall because what Roxy did with Jennson is just mad. Don’t get comfortable. Just when you think you’ve found a sanctuary, Roxy pulls the rug out and sets the floor on fire.
Reviews aren’t my strong suit.. I struggle to find the words to explain how books made me feel and this is no different in that sense. The journey of disliking characters to absolutely loving them, being unable to choose which team to be on, the utterly heartbreaking moments, the moments you never see coming and the second to last chapter which had me thinking I was going to hate the ending but got tied up and brought me back around with the last chapter, what a book it was.
This series took over my book life a couple years ago and I had been so lucky and grateful to review them as ARC’s.

This series had had me in a chokehold from the start...
I had high hopes for Aurora keeping her hands to herself in this book, but as always she went a head and surprised me.
This book took a turn and then another turn and then yet again another turn the entire book, everytime I thought id figured it out Roxy went ahead and surprised me🫣
I absolutely loved Roxys writing style, the chapters lengths, the character depth.
This whole world has taken me on such a journey i never wanted to end. It had me in a chokehold from start to finish, I couldn't get enough of it.
